Recent customers

Since its inception, KnowledgeDoc (previously operating as Monarch Computing Services) has been providing technical and business writing services to numerous clients, from small computer companies to major corporations and multi-nationals.

References and samples of work are available upon request. Some of our recent customers and the projects we have worked on are described below.

Major Australasian retailer

One of our principals, Neil Woolley, led a team of up to seven technical writers to write policies and procedures, and to develop operational training materials for the retailer's new Food and Liquor Distribution Centres during 2006 and 2007. Neil:

  • managed the team and provided regular progress updates to the project sponsor for the various elements of the assignment
  • worked with other members of the team to develop the format of the training materials and Intranet deliverables to meet the retailer's needs
  • performed business analysis, developed instructor-led training materials and wrote procedures with help from other team members.

After the project finished in 2007, Neil took over all maintenance work for the documentation and has continued to update procedures and training materials until recently.

KnowledgeDoc staff have also worked on a number of other projects for the retailer, including Emergency Management procedures for the whole group and various software user manuals.

Over the last five years, KnowledgeDoc has been responsible for writing and maintaining the documentation for the Synergetic management system for schools. This includes the user manuals, online help, web-based help and context-sensitive help for the system.

From small beginnings, the documentation now covers 23 modules in four different products. We continue to update and maintain the documentation for each new release of the software.

KnowledgeDoc has been involved with the documentation on multiple projects including:

  • implementation of JD Edwards
  • implementation of SAP
  • quality systems documentation and standard operating procedures for the IT department.

KnowledgeDoc staff were involved with several highly technical projects to document various aspects the network architecture for the Information Technology Services department.

KnowledgeDoc has worked with ABB Transmission and Distribution on a number of occasions to produce:

  • user guides, functional specifications and detailed design specifications for software developed for an energy trading system
  • operator guides for electricity substations
  • acceptance testing documentation
  • a user manual and marketing materials for a capacitor controller designed for load smoothing in retail electricity distribution networks.

KnowledgeDOC wrote several modules for the Dive Manager course conducted by the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme.
